Frequently asked questions
Can't find what you're looking for? Give us a call on (09) 553 9817 — we love a chat.
What are your opening hours?
We're open Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 6:00 pm. We're closed on weekends and public holidays. Please note a late pick-up fee of $25.00 applies for every 15 minutes after 6:00 pm.
What ages do you cater for?
We welcome children from 6 weeks to 5 years, across three spaces: Infants (6 weeks – 12 months), Toddlers (12 – 36 months) and Preschool (3 – 5 years).
How does enrolment work?
Start with a visit — come and meet us and see the centre. If you'd like to go ahead, we'll complete an enrolment form together. A one-off, non-refundable enrolment fee of $50.00 applies, and we'll plan settling-in visits before your child's first full day.
How do you help children settle in?
Gently and at your child's pace. We encourage a few short visits with you before starting, and your child will have a consistent kaiako who gets to know their cues, comforts and routines. We'll keep you updated throughout the day while they settle.
Is 20 Hours ECE really free?
Yes — for 3 to 5 year olds, our morning (8:00 am – 12:00 pm), afternoon (1:00 pm – 5:00 pm) and flexible 20 Hours ECE sessions are free. Lunch isn't included, but you can add our optional lunch for $7.50 per day, or send a packed lunch.
Do you provide food?
For full-day enrolments we provide healthy morning tea and afternoon tea. Lunch is available as an optional add-on for $7.50 per day on ECE sessions, or you're welcome to send a packed lunch. We cater for allergies and cultural dietary needs — just let us know.
Do I pay when my child is away or on holiday?
Fees are charged for every enrolled day, including absences and statutory holidays your child is booked for. After 3 months' attendance, families can apply in writing (at least 2 weeks ahead) for up to 15 days per year at 50% fees for family holidays.
Can I get help with childcare costs?
Many families qualify for the WINZ childcare subsidy, and all 3–5 year olds can use 20 Hours ECE. Applying for WINZ subsidies is the family's responsibility, but we're very happy to help with the paperwork.
What should my child bring each day?
A named bag with spare clothes, a water bottle, a sun hat in summer, and any comfort item your child loves. We provide nappies, wipes, sunscreen and bed linen for sleep times.
How do you share my child's learning with me?
You'll receive regular learning stories and photos, and our kaiako are always available at drop-off and pick-up for a chat. We also hold whānau evenings and welcome your input into your child's learning goals at any time.
